Navigating the VIP Vision NVR8PRO6 Video Recorder’s User Interface
This video is all about navigating the VIP Vision NVR8PRO6 Video Recorder’s user interface to help users become familiar with the UI. We will focus on the info portion of the UI where it has four icons/sections which are the:
System
Event
Network
Log
The first section is the ‘System’. This contains four subsections which are the HDD, Record, BPS, and Version. The HDD is where you’ll find information about the device’s hard drive like its storage capacity and its status. If you have other hard drives installed, you’ll also find them here in the HDD section. What’s great about the VIP Vision NVR8PRO6 Video Recorder is that it has a SMART status (Self-monitoring and Reporting) which automatically checks whether the hard drive is functioning properly or not.
The next subsection of the ‘System’ is Record where it shows how many hard drives are installed on the device as well as the date and time of the recordings. The third subsection is the BPS or bits-per-second and this shows information about the transfer rates (in Kb/S) and resolution (in MP or megapixels) of the specific camera or channel. The last section is the Version which is simply information about the device in general such as the device model (NVR), number of supported cameras, alarm inputs and outputs, and more.
Now let’s proceed to the ‘Event’s section which is the second section in the user interface. This shows information regarding device status and channel status. If a hard drive is missing or if there’s insufficient storage space, this is where you want to go and check. You can also check the camera/channel status under this section.
The third section in the user interface is ‘Network’ where it contains details about online users who are connected to the recorder, the user’s IP address, and the time the user connected his/her device to the recorder. You can also block users from connecting to the network. The ‘Network section also two subsections called Online Users and Test where you can click Load and check the device name, MAC address, etc. and ping the device to ensure proper connectivity.
The last section of the UI is called ‘Log’ where you can check the device’s history. The Log records any significant events like detecting an intrusion or when a camera has been tampered with. You can also view the recordings of the event as well as the details of what happened.
