#2 Check your camera’s video settings and your network’s speed to carry a video stream at the present resolution and quality.

If you often have choppy footage, checking your camera’s settings may be the solution. Having the proper CCTV camera settings create the difference between high-quality and low-quality footage. You should verify the video settings on your camera and ensure that your network is capable of carrying a video feed at the current resolution and quality levels. If the camera is a day-and-night model that should transition to night mode automatically, examine its ambient light configuration settings if any. Occasionally, the security camera’s lights will not illuminate at night due to faulty cable connections. Thus, you should also ensure that all connections, cables, and electricity are secure and intact. 

#5 Conduct a visual inspection of the power connectors and cables.

#6 Restart the surveillance camera.

Like most devices that exhibit any type of issue, one of the most common solutions is to reboot the entire system. Rebooting your security camera clears the cache, re-calibrates the settings, and updates connections. This may be accomplished on most systems by first unplugging the power plug while holding the reset button. The red PowerLED light will initially blink on for three seconds, then turn off for around fifteen seconds before flashing on for another second and turning off again. This procedure takes around 20 seconds, after which the camera will switch on. Following that, you can release the reset button.
